MFTC announces that their weekly Maui Sunday Market will return to the Kahului Shopping Center parking lot at 65 W Ka‘ahumanu Avenue (next to Burger King), starting Sunday, October 2. Public admission and parking is free.

Maui Food Technology Center (MFTC) announces the relocation of their Maui Sunday Market from Kahului Shopping Center to just down the road at 150 Hana Highway (parking lot) in Kahului, home of MFTC’s Maui Street Market, starting July 10th. Public admission and parking is free.

Mayor Michael Victorino announced the award of three County of Maui grants totaling $155,000 to three nonprofits to support farmers, food security, workforce development and diversified agriculture, the Office of Economic Development announced.

The Maui Food Technology Center (MFTC) announces the re-opening of their weekly Maui Sunday Market starting this Sunday, June 7, 2020. The event is open to the public and will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm in the parking lot of the Kahului Shopping Center located at 65 W. Kaahumanu Avenue in Kahului. Admission is free. According to Luana Mahi of MFTC, “The Maui Sunday Market is known as the place where our community gathers each Sunday. Now, we’ll be coming together in a different way with a number of health and safety procedures in place as a result of COVID-19.”

Drum roll please! The winners of Hawaiian Airlines' “Luck Be on Maui Tonight” drawing held during the Maui Sunday Market last night were … Godfrey Akina and Nadine Bagda! Each accompanied by a guest, embarked on an all-inclusive roundtrip to Las Vegas on Hawaiian Airlines, including a complimentary AVIS rental car, and hotel provided by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

Maui residents looking to experience Hawai‘i’s “Ninth Island” can now enjoy non-stop service to Las Vegas with Hawaiian Airlines’ new four-times-weekly flights between Kahului Airport (OGG) and McCarran International Airport (LAS).

On Sun., December 15, 2019, Hawaiian Airlines will take over the Maui Sunday Market in celebration of their inaugural flight from Maui to Las Vegas. Held at the Kahului Shopping Center from 4 pm to 8 pm, this special event will feature the first-ever “Luck Be On Maui Tonight” drawing. Two winners will be drawn at 6 pm. Each winner will receive two round trip tickets on Hawaiian Airlines departing Kahului Airport to Las Vegas on Sun., Dec. 15, returning on Thurs., Dec. 19; 4 days, 3 nights at the Golden Nugget Hotel in Las Vegas; and an Avis Car Rental.

Contest rules are:

• You must be present to win.

• Pack your bags beforehand! Your flight will depart that evening, Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019 (flight# HA32, leaves Kahului 8:50 pm). You’ll return on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019 (flight# HA31, departs Las Vegas 6:30 pm).

• If you are not able to fly out that evening, another winner will be drawn.

• You can enter drawing starting at 4 pm when the Maui Sunday Market opens. Winners will be drawn promptly at 6pm

• You must be 18 years or older to enter.

• One entry per person.

Maui Sunday Market announces the entertainment lineup during the remaining three Sundays in September.

It was Viva Las Maui on Sunday, July 14th, when award-winning Elvis tribute artist Lloyd Aron Douglas, took the stage at the Maui Sunday Market at Kahului Shopping Center. Fans of the King of Rock n’ Roll enjoyed a lively musical performance along with some spontaneous moments with Lloyd belting out a famous Filipino love song. No wonder why hearts went pitter patter.

Maui Sunday Market announces their 1st Anniversary Celebration will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2019, from 4 pm to 8 pm in the Kahului Shopping Center parking lot. Among the festivities will be performances by Homestead Band (5:15 pm-6:15 pm) and “Hawaii's Reggae Ambassador” Marty Dread (6:30 pm-7:30 pm). The event will also feature food trucks, island vendors, and Family Bingo (4:30-5:00 pm). Public admission and parking is free.

Elvis fans are in for a nostalgic treat when King of Rock n’ Roll impersonator Lloyd Aron Douglas takes the stage at the Maui Sunday Market, 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Sunday, July 14th. This family-friendly event, which will be held at Kahului Shopping Center from 4 pm to 8 pm, will also feature food trucks and island vendors. Seating is limited and attendees are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs. Public admission and parking is free.

Maui Sunday Market’s first Family Bingo game night held Feb. 24 was big hit with over 70 people participating!  Mahalo to our awesome game host, Chad Miller of Grandpa Joe’s Candy Company, and the following Market vendors who generously contributed prizes: 4 Kids Quick Science, Aloha LMTz, Aloha Nectar, Al's BBQ Pit, Crepe d’Amour, Girl Scout Troop, Grandpa Joe’s Candy Company, Jahja's Island Treasure, Mila’s Succulents, Only Ono BBQ, Paparazzi, Pastele House Maui LLC, Shore Break Grinds, Sparky’s Food Co., Sumo Dogs, and Sunflower Gift. Mark you calendars!  The next Family Bingo Game will be held on Sunday, March 17, from 5 to 5:30 pm.  There is no cost to participate. Hope to see you there!

On Sunday, January 27, Grandpa Joe’s Candy Company will pay tribute to their company’s founder, the late Joe Miller, during the Maui Sunday Market at Kahului Shopping Center.  Miller passed away on Maui earlier this month. In celebration of his life, Miller’s `ohana will offer FREE cotton candy on a stick to the public during the event, from 4 to 8 pm, at the Kahului Shopping Center.
